Issue- Today Peter Mandelson meets the Government's Regional Ministers and the Regional Development Agencies to announce new funding in every region that will continue to lock in economic growth.
Key points
- There will be announcements on global nuclear capability, regeneration, low carbon and advanced manufacturing. This will create high value, high skill jobs of the future across the country.
- The Tories would risk the recovery by cutting support for the economy now. They have no plan for future growth and they have pledged to scrap RDAs which provide specialised support for businesses. Their planning proposals have been criticised by the British Chambers of Commerce and the British Property Federation.
